Ingredients:
- 6-8 large yellow potatoes
- 1 stick butter
- 1 can of evaporated milk or 1 cup of whole milk
- A handful of Scallions for garnish
- 1 tbsp of Yummy Blackening Seasoning
- 1 tsp of Yummy Seafood Seasoning
Preparation
- Boil the skinned potatoes until tender, about 15-20 minutes. If you wanna keep the skin, it’s fine.
- Drain the water and with the help of a potato masher, mash all of them until it has a pure-like texture.
- In a separate pot, pour 2 ½ cups of water and bring it to a boil.
- Once it’s boiling, add the whole stick of butter. Let it melt.
- Sprinkle 1 tbsp of Yummy Blackening Seasoning and about 1 tsp of Yummy Seafood Seasoning . The combination of both will bring out the New Orleans flavors to the mix, creating a fantastic Mashed Potatoes.
- Add 1 cup of milk. For this recipe we’re using evaporated milk, it gives the mashed potatoes a more creamy texture, but you can use whole milk if you prefer. Once the milk is in, stir the mix for a minute and turn off the stove.
- Next, we’re gonna pour this into the mashed potatoes. Take your time doing it. Pour some and, using a wooden spoon, stir the mix. Repeat until all the milky and buttery mix has gone into the mashed potatoes.
- If you like it more creamy, add ½ cup of milk and ½ cup of water.
Serving
- Sprinkle some scallions when serving. It gives a nice final touch and enhances the flavors.
- Use this recipe for Thanksgiving or any occasion when you’re craving some creamy mashed potatoes.
- This and all Yummy recipes are best enjoyed when shared with friends and family.
