Shrimp and Tomato Pasta

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of shrimp
  • Butter
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 6-8 tomatoes
  • 1 small onion
  • Basil for garnish
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • Bay leaf
  • 1 tbsp of sour cream or heavy cream
  • Pasta of your choosing
  • 1 tbsp of  Yummy Seafood Seasoning
  • 1 tbsp of Yummy Blackening Seasoning

Preparation

  • For this recipe, we use unshelled shrimp because it brings more flavor to the dish but if you prefer, you can do it also with shelled shrimp
  • Before we start cooking, sprinkle about 1 tbsp of Yummy Seafood Seasoning and a dash of Yummy Blackening Seasoning. The combination of both, really brings out the full New Orleans flavors.

You will need to chop the veggies:

  • Dice the onion into small pieces
  • Mince the garlic
  • Chop into thin stripes the red bell pepper
  • Chop the tomato into four pieces

Start with the pasta and add the bay leaf to the hot water. We will cook the shrimp sauce in no time.

Preparation – Shrimp sauce

  • In a hot pan, add about 1 ½  tbsp of butter.
  • Place in the onion, garlic, and bell pepper,  stir constantly. Cook for a minute or two. Be careful not to burn the butter.
  • Next, the stars of the show. Place the shrimp and cook each side for about 3-4 minutes. We don’t want to overcook them as they will finish cooking once we incorporate the tomatoes. Set aside the contents of the pan.
  • In the same pan, add the tomato, 1 tbsp of sour cream or heavy cream and 1 tsp of Yummy Blackening Seasoning . Stir constantly for about 4-5 minutes until the first bubbles appears.
  • Now let’s marry the shrimp. Add the shrimp, onion, garlic, bell pepper previously cooked and stir with the tomato sauce for 1 minute to blend in the flavors.
  • Turn off the stove and add some fresh basil for garnish.

Serving.

  • With the cooked pasta of your choosing, add the shrimp & tomato sauce.
  • A side of French bread will come in handy as this will have everyone wanting to lick their plates.
  • This and all Yummy recipes are best enjoyed when shared with friends and family.
